History & Owners Tricia is British by birth, but naturalized Belizean by choice. She has
owned and managed Tipple Tree Beya since 1998. The name ?Tipple Tree
Beya? encompasses a little of Tricia?s own culture with a little of the
Garifuna culture of the village which is now her home. ?Tipple? is an
English word meaning to drink small quantities of intoxicating liquor.
(Anyone for a Belikin beer?!) The ?Tipple Tree? is the Sea Grape tree in
front of the hotel which produces a grape that is made into wine. ?Beya?
is the Garifuna word meaning ?beach?.
