"If luxury could meet with budget..." The Yellow House is easy to
remember and easy to find. Known as a "five-star backpacker"
accommodation, they cater to budget travelers by offering cozy, sizeable
rooms at affordable prices. Rooms are large with fresh and pleasant
d?cor, private baths, hot water, comfortable pillows, microwaves and
refrigerators. The four rooms have different size beds, from doubles to
even a king size bed for those tall travelers! The owners strive to
provide a peaceful, home away from home for the travel-weary.
History & Owners
Veronique and Lance McKenzie decided to open this simple business after
the hurricane in 2003. Originally from France, Veronique has extensive
experience as a budget traveler and wanted the property to become known
as a ?five star backpacker? accommodation. She also knew that she wanted
a yellow house which was easy to remember and a way to locate the
accommodation. She and her husband Lance are both involved in the
tourism industry outside of running their own accommodation.

Location & Directions
Placencia Village
The Yellow House is located between the main road and the sidewalk. From the Tourist Information Office by the Shell gas station, walk back up the main street about 5 minutes to the M & N Hardware Store and Texaco sign and turn towards the beach (right). The Yellow House lives up to its name and is the one with the blue trim. The owners live upstairs and you check in with them. If they are not there, check at the office of Caribbean Tours & Western Union, located on the sidewalk just north of The Yellow House.
