Tate's Guest House
Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District
Hotel Description
Tate?s Guest House, standing among towering royal palm trees lining nicely curved walkways, is located on a quiet residential street near the center of town. The rooms are immaculately clean, especially the bathrooms, which the owner inspects himself. All rooms come with TV and hot water and each room is a different size, adding to the character of this accommodation. All rooms have large windows allowing for natural lighting and natural air-conditioning (breeze). One room has a small kitchenette, ideal for extended stays and there is also a common kitchen area with a refrigerator and microwave. The great value for the price keeps guests returning again and again.
History & Owners The hotel was opened in 1990 with just two rooms. Later the hotel was expanded to the current size. The hotel did not have a name and people named it because Mr. Tate owned it. Mr. William Tate is a jolly guy with a contagious laugh. He has worked in the Punta Gorda Post Office since he was 18 years old and no, he still has not gone ?postal?. Nearly 90% of the mail that is received in PG only has the name of the person and Punta Gorda Town on the envelope and so Mr. Tate knows almost everyone in town after nearly three decades of service. He loves football (soccer) and believes in conservation. His wife, Beverly and their daughters also help run the guest house.
