Hotel Description
Ruby?s beachfront hotel offers a variety of rooms at different prices to
suit every budget traveler. Rooms range from a basic room with a shared
bath to a room with private bath and a view of the sea. All rooms are
cozy, clean & comfortable. The hotel is centrally located near all
restaurants and shops. For sunbathing, there are nice verandas and the
sandy beachfront just a few steps out of the hotel. The hotel is tall
with a large roof-top veranda providing stunning views of the blue
waters. Ruby?s Caf? is located conveniently next door serving up a
variety of baked goods and local favorites.
History & Owners
Romel and Esther Gomez are prime examples of hard work, dedication and
persistence. Romel left school at the age of 13 to fish the seas, which
was the main source of income on the island. After a few years of
working, he invested his savings into his own fishing boat which enabled
him to increase his profits. He met and married Esther and together they
had 3 children. Having to support his family, Romel continued to work in
the fishing industry and later worked at one of the local resorts. In
1978 they opened Ruby?s Hotel, named after their child, with just 5
rooms. It has since grown to 23 rooms and a second property on the
lagoon side. Their daughter runs the little caf? next to the hotel. The
family is proud to be Belizean and own property on the beachfront.

Location & Directions
Beachfront, Barrier Reef Drive, San Pedro Town
Ruby?s Hotel is located directly between Barrier Reef Drive and the beach. Coming from the water taxi dock, turn left onto Barrier Reef Drive and you will see Ruby?s at the end of the block on the left. If you are coming from the airstrip, turn right onto Tarpon Street, go one block and then turn left onto Barrier Reef Drive. Ruby?s will be on the right. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from either the dock or the airstrip.
