Midas Resort is only a short walk from the center of San Ignacio town
located in a forested area near the river. The individual cabins are
neat and clean. The hotel is affordable for both local and international
guests making it an ideal place to meet people from around Belize and the
world. The warm hospitality of the staff also gives it a "home away from
home" feeling.
History & Owners
The hotel was opened by Maria in the early 1990s. After they found the
property near the river, they started with a few cabanas and added tours
around the area. The name is the combination of the names of Maria's
first son and his father.

Branch Mouth Road, San Ignacio Town
Midas is only a few minutes walk from town but it feels far away. From the Hawkesworth Bridge, travel down Burns Avenue (which is one-way) to the 5-point intersection, veer right onto Hudson Street. Pass by the taxi area, the bus area and market. Follow the road approximately ? mile. Midway, the road becomes gravel and is named the ?Branch Mouth Road?. You will see the sign for Midas not far down on the right.
