History & Owners Mr. Andy Lee came from Hong Kong to Belize in search of a more quiet life. He was previously in the hotel business in Hong Kong and he desired to provide a needed service at the entrance to the country so that travelers would not have to go all the way to San Ignacio if they needed a place to stay. He opened Maxim?s Palace in 1993. Mr. Lee also enjoys traveling and he strives to make travelers feel at home when they stay in his hotel. He enjoys photography, reading and is active in the Chinese Association of the Cayo District.
