Visitors to the family-run Marvirton Guest House will get a place to sleep along with a history lesson when they choose this accommodation. Marvirton?s is one of the few hotels today that occupies a structure that was built during the colonial era. The colonial-style architecture is evident throughout this wooden house with high ceilings, wooden shutters over the tall windows, decorative latticework and wooden verandas. In the upstairs hallway black and white images and photographs adorn the walls, showing some of the history of the sugar industry of Northern Belize. The hotel has basic rooms with shared bath or rooms with cable TV, AC and private bath.
History & Owners The owners, Anthony (Sr.) and Virgencita Bradley converted this colonial-style house into a hotel after they inherited it from Anthony?s uncle. Mr. Bradley?s family came to Belize to be engineers for the sugar factory at Libertad (Corozal District). Mr. Bradley loves history and enthusiastically shares his knowledge of the area with his guests. In addition to the hotel, he hosts a radio talk show, is involved in the local tourism group, and is busy with four children. With Mr. Bradley, Sr. involved in so many activities, his son, Anthony Jr. is now actively involved in running the hotel. He is a wealth of enthusiasm for Belize and Corozal and loves interacting with visitors.

Location & Directions #44 - 6th Street South, Corozal Town The hotel is located two blocks north of the central park and 3 blocks from the bay. Heading east on Second Street, the hotel is on the right. From the bus station, go north two lanes and turn east (toward the bay) and the hotel is 2 blocks up on the right.

Mr. Bradley's ancestors came to the area to help with the start of the sugar industry. Stories, along with old family photos, gives greater insight into the history of the industry. He also runs a radio talk show discussing the latest topics of the day.
