Hotel Description
M & N is centrally located with a variety of rooms at affordable prices.
Lodging options range from furnished cabins (apartments) to basic cabins
and rooms with a shared bath. There are six wooden cabins on stilts; two
are completely furnished (including furnished kitchens). All cabins and
rooms are spacious, clean and include bedside lamps. The location in the
center of the village is just a stone's throw from the beach, the soccer
field and several inexpensive restaurants.
History & Owners
Like many hotel and business owners on Caye Caulker, Mr. Badillo was born
and raised on the caye and became a fisherman. As he got older and
fishing became more difficult, due to age and over-fishing, he opted for
a change in livelihood and opened the hotel in 1992. He also rents golf
carts, runs a taxi service and sells ice. Mr. Badillo is an interesting
person with quite a history in the community, having served as Village
Chairman, Justice of the Peace and Director of the Fishermen?s
Cooperative. The hotel property also has a bit of history because he
bought it from the Catholic Mission and made a promise to the bishop that
he would not open any bars or discos. He has kept his promise and the
hotel remains a quiet place.

Location & Directions
Front Street, Caye Caulker Village
M & N is located on one of the east-west cross streets. As you head up the island from the front dock, you will pass Happy Lobster Restaurant and Albert?s Mini Mart. There is a Chinese restaurant on the corner (facing the beach). Turn just before that and you will see M & N on the right. On the left side of the street there are bike rentals and golf cart rentals.
