Freddie's Guest House
Belize City, Belize District
Hotel Description
Situated in a nice and safe neighborhood between the Marine Parade and
the downtown area is this little gem of an accommodation. There are
three immaculate rooms complete with reading lamps, two fans and a hot
pot to make warm drinks. The two rooms in front share a bathroom which
is located between the rooms and so it?s literally a few steps from
either room. There is also a room with its own private bath. There are
nice plants and Adirondack chairs to sit and relax outside. The owner and
hostess, "Miss Tona" offers great hospitality so it?s no wonder that
former guests say that this is a home away from home--with a mom
included!
History & Owners After her own children left home, Mrs. Antolina Griffith, or ?Miss Tona?
rented the extra rooms to long-term Peace Corps members and other
volunteers. In 1980, she decided to start renting the rooms as a guest
house, which became known as Freddie?s, after her husband (now deceased).
Miss Tona, originally from northern Belize, lives her life with an
amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm.

Location & Directions #86 Eve Street, Belize City Eve Street is located on the north side of Belize City, parallel to the Marine Parade and just ? block to the sea. Restaurants, shops and the Museum of Belize are all within waking distance. Coming from the Princess Hotel down the Marine Parade, Eve Street veers to the right. The House is located on the right side of the road, just a few houses down. The sign is back against the wall of the house, but look for the neat green and white house with the cowbell on the gate.
