Caesar's Place
San Ignacio-Georgeville, Cayo District
Hotel Description
This charming guest house is set on five beautifully landscaped acres with swimming in the picturesque Barton Creek. The cottages are spacious, tiled, and tastefully decorated with artwork from Belize and neighboring countries. The business is family-run with excellent home-cooking in the restaurant. Caesar is an accomplished musician and the in-house band plays jazz and blues the first Saturday of the month. The setting is ideal for folks who want to be out of the hub of San Ignacio town and yet still close to all of the Maya sites (and caves) of Western Belize and Guatemala.
History & Owners The small guest house started in 1990 as a Mom & Pop place and stayed small. They have gradually made additions to the property, including a restaurant and gift shop. Most of the wood products and sculptures in the gift shop are made at a workshop on-site. The name came from hotel and taxi drivers who called it "Caesar's Place" before it was even a hotel.
