Bird's Eye View Lodge
Crooked Tree Village, Belize District
Hotel Description
Bird's Eye View Lodge is a Belizean family-owned lodge situated in the heart of the Crooked Tree Sanctuary. The lodge consists of two different buildings on the edge of the lagoon. The main lodge has a restaurant/bar, office, gift shop and sitting areas. The palapas at the edge of the waterfront make an ideal place for birding or just relaxing. The rooms are extremely clean, pleasantly furnished, and have optional AC. The staff and local tour guides eagerly await the opportunity to share a memorable experience with their guests.
History & Owners The hotel got the name from it's prime birding location. Verna Gillett grew up in Crooked Tree Village and still considers it her home. She is a vivacious, generous, wise woman who has built this business from scratch. She makes homemade jams and jellies to sell in the gift shop and is always looking to grow and improve on what she is already doing. The hotel started out with 5 rooms in 1993 and has expanded to 18 rooms.
